Our reliable colleagues at Goal France report this evening that Ligue 1 side Bordeaux have agreed to break their transfer record to sign Brazilian attacker Pedro from €17m.
FCGB have been chasing this deal for several months, undertaking complex negotiations with the player owned by a multitude of different parties. Les Girondins’ €17m agreement sees them purchase 100% of the Brazilian’s economic rights, as required by LFP regulations.
Pedro, who was recently called up to Tite’s latest Brazilian national team squad, has already agreed to a 5-year contract.
Contractual and administrative details are now expected to be wrapped up in the next 48 hours, in a deal that will show Bordeaux’s future manager that the incoming American owners are serious about revolutionising the club’s standing, both in France and Europe.
