Lyon released a shock statement this evening, confirming that negotiations with Liverpool for the transfer of their captain Nabil Fékir had come to an end.
See as follows:
“Lyon is informing that tri-party negotiations between the club, Liverpool and Nabil Fékir for the OL captain have not concluded successfully and that Lyon has decided to terminate negotiations at 20:00 this evening (local time). Even though Liverpool was the priority for an eventual transfer for Nabil, and subject to other offers that interest Nabil and Lyon and come from ambitious clubs, Lyon is delighted to be able to count on the presence of their captain who constitutes a top class recruit for this 2018/19 season in which the club will compete in the Champions’ League in the 3rd pot for the group stage draw.”
RMC report that Liverpool are understood have tried to change a pre-existing fee agreement with Lyon after Nabil Fékir underwent a medical.
