Speaking to reporters following Lyon’s 1-1 draw with Bordeaux yesterday, President Jean-Michel Aulas had some criticism for Tanguy N’Dombélé, but moved to defend Memphis Depay.
“We were not at the required level and we saw a very good team in Bordeaux. Bruno Génésio tried to change the system because N’Dombélé did not seem to apply himself today. That can happen… He (Memphis Depay) was not excellent as he usually is. He has suffered from criticism but I know that he is a great player. He owes us some revenge and he will bring that on Wednesday (vs. Hoffenheim).”
