Premier League side Manchester City have reached an agreement over personal terms to sign highly-rated 17-year-old PSG defensive midfielder Claudio Gomes to a professional contract, according to RMC.
PSG will be owed a small formation fee but the player is essentially leaving for nothing. Gomes had been training with the Les Parisiens’ first team since December.
The report indicates that despite Gomes’ profound love for PSG, he did not feel as though the club really wanted to offer him a project that would actually enable him to eventually work his way into the first team.
This is a big failure for the relatively new Head of Youth Development, Luis Fernandez.
