Mario Balotelli was at Marseille’s training ground to negotiate – no deal is done

Italian international & OGC Nice striker Mario Balotelli spent this afternoon at Marseille’s training ground to continue negotiations over a potential move.

As reported by RMC and Nice-Matin, no deal is yet imminent.

Balotelli was in the company of a lawyer but not his agent Mino Raiola, with Marseille and OGC Nice yet to open negotiations over the player’s transfer.

OGC Nice are infuriated with the Italian’s decision to ignore club directives and skip all of Les Aiglons’ pre-season thus far and intend to sanction him financially.

If the situation continues in this vain, and Balotelli continues to refuse contact with OGC Nice, it is not implausible that the gentlemen’s agreement that the two parties made to allow the player to leave for €10m will be taken off the table by Les Aiglons.

A source contacted by Nice-Matin had this to say from the Nice side: “I do not see how Mario can sign a new contract when he has not been bought out of his current one here.”

Mino Raiola and Marseille have agreed a 2-year deal in principle for the Italian to join OM worth €700k a month, which would make “Super Mario” Marseille’s highest paid player of all time.
