20th placed Ligue 1 side Metz have concretely approached Montpellier goalkeeper Laurent Pionnier, offering him provisional terms over a possible 18-month contract, according to Midi Libre.
The 35-year-old has not played for Montpellier this season and has not received a contract extension offer from MHSC either.
A deal could be agreed in the coming hours.
