Moussa Dembélé furious as Celtic continue to block his move to Lyon

French forward Moussa Dembélé is “very, very upset” as Celtic continue to block his move to Lyon, sources tell Get French Football News.

The French forward sat down with Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers on Tuesday and told him of his desire to leave the Scottish champions, but the former Liverpool boss insisted that he would not be able to leave the club without the signing of a replacement.

Tensions have mounted in recent days, with offers peppering in. Last night, Dembélé met with the Celtic board to express his confusion as to why he was not allowed to leave, after being told that he could on multiple occasions, including, according to sources contacted by Get French Football News:

1 | In the January window, Brendan Rodgers allegedly pushed Moussa Dembélé to accept offers from West Brom and Brighton, selling to Moussa how great a coach Chris Hughton and how Brighton was a better club than Celtic.

2 | In last summer’s window, Rodgers allegedly pushed Moussa to accepting a proposal from China.

3 | Brendan Rodgers allegedly told the player in a meeting in the manager’s office that Celtic was not a big enough club for him, in a meeting that resulted in the player seeking a move to Lyon.

Despite tensions being at an all time high, Dembélé will train as normal with Celtic this morning.
