Toulouse have today confirmed that midfielder Somália has departed the club for Saudi side Al-Shabab.
The 29-year-old Brazilian – who had a year remaining on his contract with Les Pitchouns – leaves the Stade Municipal after three years, in which he made no less than 84 Ligue 1 appearances.
In his time at the club, Somália – whose full name is Wergiton do Rosario Calmon – had become an important figure for Toulouse; his versatility frequently proving a major asset as he was able to play across all areas of midfield or at right-back.
Having made 27 appearances last season, Somália becomes the latest departure from Alain Casanova’s side following Andy Delort’s loan move to Montpellier as well as the sales of Issa Diop and Alban Lafont earlier this summer.
Somália signs a two-year contract with Al-Shabab.
