Official | AS Monaco snap up Jonathan Panzo from Chelsea for €3m

AS Monaco have completed the signing of the Chelsea youth product Jonathan Panzo.

The 17-year old moves to the 2017 Ligue 1 champions for a fee understood to be £2.5m, and was signed by the Michael Emenalo, the technical director at the Stade Louis II, who initially became aware of Panzo’s potential during his seven-year spell in the same role at Chelsea.

Monaco are understood to have beaten the likes of Valencia, Borussia Monchengladbach and RB Leipzig to the England U-17 World Cup Champion’s signature.

Panzo expressed his delight to the club’s website in having secured the move: “I’m really happy to join Monaco. It’s a big club that’s given me confidence to young players and regularly plays in the Champions League. It’s another step in my career. I’m motivated by the idea of working with the staff and playing alongside great players”.
