In a rather surprising piece of news, Bordeaux captain has Jérémy Toulalan requested that his contract be terminated at the club, thus now making him a free agent.
Whilst there are rumours circulating online about what exactly the reason is to why Toulalan would ask to be released, but the official Bordeaux club website confirmed earlier on that the veteran French midfielder is no longer with the club following his termination. GFFN sources indicate that the former French international did not want to remain at Bordeaux after Jocelyn Gourvennec was sacked today.
34-year-old Toulalan joined Girondins in the summer of 2016 on a free transfer from Monaco, playing 60 times for Bordeaux without registering a single goal. His time at clubs like Malaga, Nantes and Lyon means Toulalan may be a very good cheap acquisition for a team in need for a defensive midfielder who can lead a team.
