Official | Claudio Beauvue signs on loan for Caen from Celta Vigo

Former Ligue 1 attacker Claudio Beauvue is set for a return to French football after two and a half years in Spain. SM Caen are the club to bring Beauvue back, having today signed the Celta Vigo striker on loan for the 2018/19 campaign with an option to buy come the end of the season.

Beauvue originally left Ligue 1 for La Liga when he was sold to Celta Vigo in January of 2016. The striker’s time in Vigo was difficult, as he had a hard time establishing himself in a crowded attack force.

A loan move to Leganes gave Beauvue more time on the pitch, but the Frenchman struggled producing goals, mustering a measly two in his 28 total appearances.

Caen will be hoping that they can resurrect the Claudio Beauvue that terrorized European defences during his time with EA Guingamp. In the 2014/15 season, during which Guingamp competed in both Ligue 1 and the Europa League, the then 26-year-old striker scored 27 goals in the 52 matches he appeared in.
