Having just returned from a loan spell with Primeira Liga outfit Chaves, AS Saint-Étienne’s Jorginho has headed right back out again. The Guinea-Bissauan winger’s temporary move to Bulgarian side CSKA Sofia has been officially confirmed by his new club, and the wide man has already begun training with the eastern European giant.
Playing for one of the biggest sides in Bulgaria is unlikely to phase Jorginho, who has seen action under the lights of Old Trafford during Europa League play for Saint-Étienne. The winger also spent time at Manchester City’s academy, working on his game in the Northwest of England from 2012-2016.
Jorginho is often played as an attacking winger on either flank. His most successful season came before his transfer to France when he was playing in Portugal for F.C. Arouca. Deployed most notably as a right-winger by Arouca during the 2016/17 season, Jorginho supplied the team with 5 goals and 2 assists in 10 Primeira Liga appearances.
While Jorginho’s career stagnated slightly during his time with Chaves (only 4 Primeira Liga starts), the Guinea-Bissauan winger has clear talent and will be looking to re-establish himself in Bulgaria.
