Lyon youngster Gédéon Kalulu has today been loaned to Championnat National side Bourg-en-Bresse for the season.
Kalulu, the younger brother of former Lyon striker Aldo who is now with FC Basel, has signed for the third tier side amid reports earlier this summer of strong interest from FC Nürnberg and Le Havre.
The 21-year-old – who is primarily a right-back by trade but can also play at left-back or centre-back – is under contract with Les Gones until June 2020, but is yet to make a first team appearance for Bruno Génésio’s side, having spent the duration of his time with the club in the reserve squad since signing his first professional contract in 2017.
FBBP 01 head coach Damien Ott has expressed his satisfaction in having secured the loan signing of Kalulu. “It was clear from the start that we were looking to complete cover in our defensive positions. We had the opportunity to do it with Gédéon and we seized it because he offers a very useful versatility. He was trained in Lyon and for him it is a way to progress and flourish. I am very happy that OL has agreed to this loan which will be a win-win for the player and club”.
