FC Nantes have today completed the signing of Senegalese defender Kara Mbodji from Anderlecht.
The 28-year-old moves to the Stade de la Beaujoire on a season-loan deal that includes an option for Les Canaris to buy Mbodji.
The central defender – whose current contract with the Belgian side runs until 2020 – had been a regular performer with Anderlecht for two full seasons until a five-month injury lay severely disrupted his 2017/18 campaign.
Mbodji- who can also operate as a defensive midfielder- is an experienced Senegalese international with 47 caps and 5 goals to his name, and was an unused substitute in all three of Senegal’s group games in Russia 2018.
The 28-year-old is set to wear the number 5 shirt for Nantes this season.
