Rennes have today announced the signing of forward Theoson-Jordan Siebatcheu from Reims for a reported €12m. The American-born French striker signs for the Rouge et Noir after an impressive season with Stade de Reims, finishing second in the Ligue 2 golden boot race with 17 goals and 6 assists to help his side earn promotion as champions from the French second division. Siebatcheu originally joined Reims as a 7-year-old and made his eventual debut against Toulouse in January 2015.
The 6ft 3 in striker will be a useful addition to Olivier Létang’s Rennes, who enjoyed a memorable campaign in Ligue 1 last season by finishing 5th and qualifying for the Europa League.
Siebatcheu has earned two France Under 21 caps but is also eligible to play for the USA or Cameroon.
