Paris Saint-Germain have completed the deadline-day signing of Spanish left-back Juan Bernat from Bayern Munich.
The 25-year-old has signed a three-year contract with the French champions after the clubs have agreed a transfer amounting to a fee of €15m.
It is believed PSG’s sporting director Antero Henrique turned his attention to Bernat after it became clear the Parisians’ remaining funds would not stretch to meet Atletico Madrid’s demands for the highly experienced Brazilian left-back Filipe Luis.
Bernat has spent four seasons with the Bavarian side- following his move from Valencia in 2014- in which time he has made 111 appearances, scoring 5 goals in all competitions.
PSG Chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi has announced his delight in securing the Spaniard’s signature. “We are very happy to welcome Juan Bernat. Juan has a solid experience after playing for two big European clubs along with his status as a Spain international. He joins us with big ambitions, a desire to keep progressing in a squad of great players and add a new dimension to his career. Juan also has the character our supporters love”.
