Saint-Étienne have completed the signing of French forward Franck Honorat from Ligue 2 side Clermont Foot.
The 22-year-old – who primarily operates as a right winger – has signed a five-year contract with Les Verts, in a deal that stipulates the immediate loan return to Clermont for the duration of the full 2018/19 season for Honorat.
The former France U-19 international scored 3 goals in 37 appearances since his initial move to the Stade Gabriel Montpied in 2017, and now becomes Jean Louis-Gasset’s fourth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Wabhi Khazri, Timothée Kolodziejczak and Rémy Cabella.
Honorat expressed his delight in securing the move to the Saint-Étienne club website. “I’m signing with one of the best clubs in Ligue 1…I cannot wait to return in a year to Saint-Étienne, to evolve with the great players who make up the team and to discover this beautiful atmosphere”.
