Ligue 1 side Nantes have this afternoon confirmed the sacking of Portuguese technician Miguel Cardoso and the hire of Bosnian manager Vahid Halilhodzic as his replacement.
Cardoso, who joined Les Canaris from Rio Ave this summer, acquired 6 points in 8 matches at the head of the club, an outcome that sees Nantes sitting 19th in the Ligue 1 table.
66-year-old Vahid Halilhodzic has a rich playing history in Ligue 1 and especially at Nantes, where he became the club’s 3rd highest scorer in its existence.
Vahid Halilhodzic’s last job came as head of the Japanese national team, a role he sensationally quit before the 2018 World Cup. He has signed a deal until 2020.
