Speaking in a SFR Sport interview, Chelsea and France striker Olivier Giroud discussed his relationship with national team boss Didier Deschamps.
“He has a genuine belief in me, which I try and repay on the pitch. And so it works in both ways. He is certainly an important person for me and I have a good relationship with him, of course that matters a lot. He is a coach who never gives up and knows how to talk to his players. He is a winner and a competitor. He speaks to us honestly, and his experience helps him to warn us not to make certain mistakes, or at least try not to make them. And I think that is one of his biggest strengths.”
