L’Équipe ask this question in this morning’s edition whether or not Barcelona’s interest in Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is genuine.
The newspaper suggests that Pogba will be able to profit from this situation with a wage rise and contract extension that will take him closer to earning what Chilean international Alexis Sanchez currently receives from the Red Devils, €20m a year, with Pogba on a mere €17m.
The outlet confirms that Paul Pogba has a profound admiration for Manchester United, but that his poor relationship with José Mourinho has put a strain on things. It notably led to Pogba being dropped for Scott McTominay, which reportedly infuriated the Frenchman.
L’Équipe accept that the likelihood of Pogba leaving is very small, especially as Manchester United would have to find a world-class replacement with less than 12 hours remaining of the English summer transfer window.
