32-year-old French international defensive midfielder Lassana Diarra is closing in on a move to PSG this month on a free transfer after terminating his contract with Al Jazira, according to SFR Sport.
An agreement in principle has been reached between the former Real Madrid, Arsenal, Portsmouth, Chelsea and Marseille man, over either a 1.5 year or 2.5 year contract. The exact financial details of the arrangement have yet to be concluded, giving other potentially interested parties the slightest window of opportunity to hijack this move.
In this regard, AC Milan, Galatasaray, Fenerbahce and Manchester United have all contacted the player’s representatives, as well as Ligue 1 side St Étienne through their newly appointed manager Jean-Louis Gasset.
AC Milan are out of the running owing to their own financial difficulties. Even though discussions are ongoing between Diarra’s camp and multiple clubs, a deal is close with PSG and could be concluded in the coming hours.
