Speaking in an interview with SFR Sport last night, Southampton winger Sofiane Boufal confirmed his desire to quit the club at the end of the season.
“There is no problem with Southampton, I had it out with the manager. There was unfortunately a misunderstanding between the club and myself, but today I am under contract with the club and everything is fine with the club’s board and the manager too.”
“I have been available to the coach this season. Sadly, he has not wanted to use me that much. I respect his decisions. In terms of our human relationship, we get on fine, nothing bad has happened.”
“I am still under contract with the club, I have another 3 years on my contract, but the truth is that my aim is to find another club, to go elsewhere, to find another project, a club with a style of play that suits me and a manager that is counting on me. A club that believes in me, where I can explode into life.”
“It is true that a return to France today would interest me a lot. A good club in France that is playing in Europe, of course I would be interested. It is a league that I know well. I know the language, I was born in France… Marseille are a very big club. This year, the club is in the Europa League final… The stadium, the club, the manager… of course Marseille interests me, if Marseille are interested in me then why not sign for them.”
