RMC report that Europa League-playing Spanish side Getafe have jumped into the race to sign 24-year-old central defender Alexander Djiku from newly-relegated to Ligue 2 club Caen.
Djiku is currently under contract with the Normandy side until 2022, who are resigned to the fact that they will lose him this summer.
Talks have intensified between Strasbourg and the player in recent hours, with the Alsace side offering him a provisional 4-year contract – more meetings are set for later on this week.
The Frenchman is also in contact with Getafe, at the same time as Nantes’ attempts for the player have quasi-stopped.
SMC want between €3.5m to €5m to sell.
