Speaking at today’s press conference ahead of his side’s Sunday match-up in Ligue 1 against AS Monaco, Marseille manager André Villas-Boas was asked about whether rumours linking the club to the free transfer signing of Hatem Ben Arfa were true. These claims intensified earlier this week when it became apparent that Florian Thauvin would be out for the next 3-4 months following ankle surgery.
“We are not going to move for Hatem Ben Arfa, nor, I think, for any player whatsoever. That means that we will stay like this. It has nothing to do with the quality of the player (Ben Arfa), it is a just a decision that we are taking. My squad has been the same since June, that is the reality for this season.”
