Angers to cancel Julien Masson signing over knee cartilage problem

La Voix du Nord and Ouest-France report that Ligue 1 side Angers are set to decide to cancel a €1.5m deal with Ligue 2 side Valenciennes to sign 21-year-old midfielder Julien Masson.

The young prospect, who was also sought after by Lorient, is understood to have a knee cartilage problem that was thrown up in his medical.

On Monday, Le SCO insisted that a more thorough medical take class on the player after some concerns regarding his knee were thrown up.

It is not yet clear whether or not this additional checks have been carried out and whether or not Angers will cancel the deal, but both outlets suggests that this is the most likely scenario.
