RMC report that Montpellier have moved rapidly to replace the departing Ruben Aguilar, who is joining AS Monaco for €10m.
The right-back had the option of choosing Crystal Palace, who had also agreed a fee with Montpellier worth around €10m, but decided against Roy Hodgson’s men.
MHSC have wasted no time and reached a €3m deal with Belgian side Gent to sign ex-OGC Nice right-back Arnaud Souquet.
It will be a 4-year contract for the Frenchman with der Zakarian’s squad.
