L’Équipe report this morning that Arsenal are “not yet disposed to offer” the €30m (guaranteed) that St Étienne are asking for 18-year-old French central defender William Saliba.
The outlet reaffirms Les Verts’ absolute desire to see the player loaned back to them for the 2019/20 campaign, whilst highlighting the well-known fact that Saliba has already agreed a 5-year contract with the Gunners.
Speaking at a press conference this morning, St Étienne boss Ghislain Printant had the following to say on the teen defender:
“Saliba is part of our squad. We all know that he is sought after. From a football perspective, our desire is to keep him here with us. He still needs to grow.”
