Speaking to Canal Plus after AS Monaco’s 5-1 victory over Lille on the final day of the first half of the Ligue 1 campaign, Monaco VP Oleg Petrov had a simple declaration to make, amid ongoing speculation regarding the future of manager Leonardo Jardim.
“I am going to speak in English, it is a little easier. I am very happy with the result of the game of course and it was a difficult first half of the season. We started, especially the very start, of the season in last position. Now we are at the end of the first half in 7th place. Well obviously this position does not reflect the ambitions of the club and the technical quality of the team. We think we should play better and we deserve better. We will make adjustments, we shall have the team to reach the places we deserve.”
No change of coach?
(smiles) As I said, no questions tonight.
