Big advances in Watford’s pursuit of Ismaila Sarr

L’Équipe report that Watford have made strong advances in recent days to sign Senegalese international winger Ismaila Sarr from Rennes.

After having an opening €30m bid for the player rejected by the Brittany club, Watford have intensified talks with Sarr’s entourage and are close to agreeing to the contours of a provisional contract.

The outlet reports that Sarr himself has told team-mates in Egypt at AFCON that he wants to make a move to the Hornets, but a deal hinges on Watford making an improved offer to his Ligue 1 club which satisfies President Olivier Létang.

In order to assist them, Watford have employed the help of multiple French intermediaries to try to close the deal.
