Bordeaux suspend 3 youth academy players for physically assaulting 15-year-old team-mate

Bordeaux yesterday announced in a statement that they have suspended three youth academy players after they committed physical assault on a 15-year-old team-mate.

“We learned of a serious incident that took place between four young people at the training centre on September 30th. As of today, three young people have been called to a preliminary interview ahead of possible sanctions, providing us with the time to conduct an internal investigation and to clearly identify those who played a major role in this incident.”

Yesterday, the perpetrators of the attack were placed in police custody in Mérignac police station. All three individuals were part of the 15-year-old age category.

Their victim is seriously injured but not in a life-threatening condition and is expected to be away from the club for at least 15 days receiving treatment.
