Kylian Mbappé, Paris Saint-Germain’s superstar, increased his goal totals to 51 Ligue 1 goals after the team’s 3-0 victory on Saturday against Nîmes at Parc des Princes. After the win, Mbappé is focused on setting new records, and that is what drives him.
Paris Saint-Germain’s Christopher Nkunku scored the first of the three in the first half to give PSG the lead. However, it was Mbappe who scored in the second half to strengthen their lead and give them a seventeen point lead in Le Championnat.
After the final whistle blew, Mbappé stated that he works hard daily to help PSG as much as possible. He added that he wants to enjoy his football as it is great fun and that breaking records and scoring goals is the driving force.
As 20, Mbappé had high praise for Thomas Tuchel and his part in their victory stating that the coach’s desire to maintain a relentless effort and attack played a big part in their success and the performance of his teammates.
“The coach transmits and motivates us to never give up and to always keep going forward,” added Mbappé. “We have players that run for the full 90 minutes – we do it for him, as well as the supporters. We are working well. We have come a long way and we still have a long way to go – we need to continue like this.”
For his part, Tuchel was not pleased with how the team finished against Nimes and had hoped for more goals, especially from Mbappé. However, he did point out that the second half improved.
“We had a lot of chances to score throughout the game,” said Tuchel. “We could have won by more — Kylian could have scored five goals! Perhaps we lacked a little concentration, but I think we played really well and defended high up the pitch. The second half was exceptional. It was a great win — the team got stronger and stronger as the game wore on.”

Marco Verratti, an Italian international Midfielder with PSG helped Nkunku’s goal and shared in his delight that Mbappe has achieved what others never achieve in the Ligue 1.
“The most important thing is that Kylian keeps getting opportunities,” Verratti said. “Right now, we are managing to find him. Kylian is even more decisive when played through the middle and we are happy with that. I am really pleased that he has already reached 50 Ligue 1 goals.”
Paris Saint-Germain next will meet matches against Dijon in the quarterfinals of the Coupe de France quarterfinals on Tuesday. Going into the match after their success against Nîmes is sure to generate positive energy within Mbappé and his fellow teammates.
