Dijon want to hire Guy Lacombe as their new manager

Ligue 1 side Dijon want to bring in 63-year-old manager Guy Lacombe, according to L’Équipe.

Lacombe hasn’t managed for over 5 years since his last position in the Middle East with Al Wasl, and despite notable managerial spells at PSG and Monaco, DFCO would be taking a sizeable risk on someone who is currently operating in a role with the French Football Federation.

Having recently been faced with a death in the family, Lacombe is unconvinced about jumping straight back into management, but Dijon are firm in their interest, having been put off Antoine Kombouaré because of the latter’s salary demands.

Dijon have lined up René Girard as their fall-back option if Lacombe decides against the job and have also placed Frédéric Hantz and Sabri Lamouchi on their shortlist.

Pascal Dupraz, Patrice Garande and Rolland Courbis are no longer being considered.
