Exclusive | Agent Jennifer Mendelewitsch warns of FIFA’s latest attempts to regulate: “They want to control everything.”

Speaking in an episode of the Presidents Podcast, FA and FFF licensed football agent Jennifer Mendelewitsch shared details of FIFA’s latest plan to reform the ways of football agency exclusively to Get French Football News, including a plan that would see FIFA be sent all agent commissions before they are eventually passed on to the agent.

“They want to control everything and honestly I am not really comfortable with FIFA handling my money. There are currently more FIFA officials in jail than football agents. They should stop treating us as the problem as an excuse for their bad decisions. So yes they want to control everything, they want to go back to a FIFA exam, they want to control the money, they want to go back to the situations back in the days. But how it worked before they decided not to deal with agents, it didn’t work. I don’t understand why they are doing this. Especially in France, it is going to be a very complicated question. We are regulated by the law and not only by our federation. So I don’t know how it is going to work in the future. But believe me when I went to this FIFA meeting where they explained to us how it was going to work, it was just a joke. We had wonderful food. They didn’t ask us what we think about them wanting to reduce the number of loans authorised, they didn’t ask us what we think about the future of football. They point at us as if we are the problem when we can come up with solutions. We do deals all the time, we know what the problems are, we know what the clubs expect. It is easier for them to say now you have to go back to an exam, you will have to re-pass all the exams etc. How can FIFA clear all the agent fees in the world, it’s crazy. I don’t know what’s going to happen, but from what I see, they are going to make their changes and then like always in 3 years, they are going change their mind and we are going to start from the beginning again.”
