Sources contacted by Get French Football News understand that Premier League side West Ham United are in concrete talks to sign 18-year-old attacking midfielder Bilel Hassaini, who is without a contract following the end of his youth deal with Ligue 2 side AS Nancy last month.
The player has been heavily linked with Arsenal and Liverpool in the Premier League, but it is our understanding that neither side have made a formal contract offer to the teenager as of yet.
Any side that does sign the French youth international this summer will have to pay a six-figure fee to Nancy to cover youth development solidarity payments.
West Ham United had been targeting FC Barcelona’s 16-year-old versatile attacking talent Anssumane Fati as their number one target in this sector, but he has very recently extended his contract with the Catalan giants.
As a result, Hassaini is now the Hammers’ #1 priority in this position.
The player had been set to join PSG earlier this summer, but the change of Sporting Director, from Antero Henrique to Leonardo, brought the deal to collapse.
