Speaking in an interview with Superdeporte, 28-year-old French defensive midfielder Francis Coquelin discussed his chances of making Didier Deschamps’ national team squad ahead of EURO 2020.
“I am very focused on Valencia. In the end, what enables you to play for the national team is what you do everyday with your club. It is true that there are a lot of players in my position and it is an objective that is far away, but I follow the national team, when France play, I always watch the matches, but the most important thing is Valencia and the aims that we have to achieve. For any player, playing for their national team is something special, but there is a lot of quality there. I know that I too have quality, but it is the manager who decides.”
