63-year-old tactician Guy Lacombe has rejected an offer to become the new manager of Ligue 1 side Dijon, according to our colleagues at L’Équipe.
The former PSG and Monaco coach did not want to leave his current role with the French Football Federation, despite a good meeting with Dijon President Olivier Delcourt.
In the last 24 hours, Delcourt has met with René Girard, having seen Antoine Kombouaré last week. The pair of available managers top a shortlist that also includes former Metz and Montpellier manager Frédéric Hantz.
The board has a split opinion on who they should proceed with following the sacking of Olivier Dall’Oglio, even if Kombouaré is favoured by top dog Delcourt.
David Linarès, the current interim coach, will continue to run the 1st team for the time being and is likely to lead his side into this weekend’s fixture with Montpellier.
