Speaking to RMC following PSG’s 3-0 victory over Real Madrid, man of the match Idrissa Gueye discussed the performance.
“I had a bit of cramp at the end but I am ok, I played my part today like I have always done since I started playing football. Wherever I went, I have also been like that. I always try to help my team. We played as a team today. It was important to win this match, we knew to work together, do what was needed, respect the advice of the coach and it was important to start this competition off well.”
On Thomas Tuchel’s specific instructions for him:
I cannot give you the keys to our match because there will be another game against these guys (laughs). We are going to continue to work and then maybe we speak again at the end of the competition.
On his preferred position:
Wherever I play, the most important thing for me is to be on the pitch and help the team. Whether I player higher up or as a defensive midfielder, there are no problems for me. I started as a box-to-box player tonight, then, when Marquinhos went off, I moved further back and tried to do the best that I could do on the football pitch and it worked today.
