As reported by our colleagues at Soccer Link, claims linking 27-year-old Senegalese international and Napoli central defender Kalidou Koulibaly with Ligue 1 champions PSG are wide of the mark.
Contrary to reports in the Italian media, Koulibaly is understood not to have a release clause for this summer and that instead a €150m clause will be activated in the defender’s contract from summer 2020.
As a result, in order to sign the player from Napoli, a member of Europe’s elite is going to have to offer an enormous sum – contrary to speculation, the Serie A side has not received a concrete offer for the player yet this summer.
Koulibaly does not want to join PSG and a deal for him to do so is impossible. On the contrary, Koulibaly favours a move to England and Spain.
