Laurent Koscielny will meet with Arsenal this week

Arsenal representatives will meet with Laurent Koscielny later this week to find a resolution to the currently untenable situation, with both sides’ lawyers due to be present, according to L’Équipe.

The outlet indicates that the player’s entourage is expecting a sanction in the way of seeing a portion of his salary withheld.

The newspaper also makes the claim that there is more to the story than has been made public, with the club “knowing surely why [he has acted out of character].”

Arsène Wenger has also weighed in, in the outlet’s article: “I am very surprised by the current situation. I do not know the whole story, but Laurent’s behaviour with me has always been beyond reproach. I think highly of Laurent as a man.”

Olivier Giroud has also spoken to L’Équipe: “There is certainly more to this story than we know. Laurent is someone who is very respectful, very professional, and has always led by example. I do not understand how this point has been reached. He has always been very thankful towards the club. I hope that both parties will find an arrangement. I know that Laurent is hurt by what is going on right now.”
