Speaking to reporters at a basketball event, Lyon President Aulas was invited to react to the fact that Claude Puel had been appointed manager of rivals St Étienne, a coach that Aulas worked with at OL from 2008 to 2011.
“We are trying to resolve our own issues. And we have a certain belief in ourselves, so no I don’t think it changes things. A derby must always be won. The pressure is certainly on St Étienne, who have changed manager and are playing at home to beat Lyon… I hope they haven’t made this change to try to beat us because if they have they’re going to be disappointed.”
