Mathieu Debuchy believes that St Étienne can obtain Champions’ League football this season

Speaking in an interview with Téléfoot, St Étienne full-back Mathieu Debuchy discussed the club’s chances of obtaining Champions’ League football for next season, with the club sitting 6 points behind 3rd placed Lyon, but with a game in hand and a superior goal difference.

“It would be fantastic to offer this present to our supporters, again this season they have been unbelievable. I think that the other teams, like Marseille or Lyon, are better equipped than us. They are supposed to play in the Champions’ League. The pressure is on them. In more difficult matches, it is important to have experienced players. There is no panicking in this team, we know that at any moment, if we put our gameplan in place, we are going to have chances. We are calm… I have been lucky enough to experience it (UCL) and I can imagine the music in this stadium, it would be truly magnificent. And then, we also have the right to dream too.”
