Speaking to RMC Sport following Tottenham Hotspur’s historic advance to the semi-finals of the Champions’ League last night over Manchester City, manager Mauricio Pochettino described his series of emotions when Raheem Sterling appeared to have scored in the last minute to take the tie away from his side, only for VAR to rule it out.
“I threw my jumper on the floor, sat down, it was difficult to deal with. You all saw the face I was making. Then, when the situation changed, hope came back. It was a cocktail of emotions, a unique sense of joy, it is the first time as a manager that I have felt like that.”
