Metz duo Kévin N’Doram & Manuel Cabit in 180km/h crash, one seriously injured

23-year-old AS Monaco loanee at Metz, Kévin N’Doram, has caused a serious injury to team-mate Manuel Cabit after driving the latter in a car at a speed of more than 180km/h, resulting in a car crash.

26-year-old Metz left-back Manuel Cabit, who arrived from AC Ajaccio this summer, “has lost feeling in his legs” after crashing as a passenger on the A4 motorway on Sunday, according to L’Équipe.

The accident occurred with the car going at faster than 180km/h, per the AFP. It is understood that two additional people were injured from the accident, despite the fact that N’Doram did not drive his car into another vehicle.

They had both played in Metz’s 2-2 draw with Montpellier on Saturday, which left the club 19th in Ligue 1.

Metz sought to reassure fans of Manuel Cabit’s condition in an official communiqué today:

“Manuel Cabit, unfortunately, was seriously injured. He is currently at CHU hospital in Reims. His condition is not life-threatening. His family and those close to him are around him. His team, coaches and all at FC Metz are giving him their intense support in these difficult moments and wish a speedy recovery.”
