Mike Maignan called up to replace Hugo Lloris in the France squad

The French national team have announced the call-up of Lille goalkeeper Mike Maignan after the withdrawal of Hugo Lloris earlier today through injury.

Nice-Matin have reported that Lloris has not suffered any break or fracture to his hand, wrist, arm or elbow and will be discharged from hospital later today. ESPN claim that the player has dislocated his elbow. Nice-Matin have since added that this is a considerable dislocation and that further tests will be undergone in the coming hours to determine whether or not there is ligament rupture. The elbow has been plastered after it was put back in place. Impossible to know how long he will be missing at this point.

However, Didier Deschamps has decided to move quickly to replace his captain.

Lloris was forced off the pitch on a stretcher whilst receiving oxygen at lunchtime today after falling awkwardly during a Premier League match against Brighton.
