Monaco DG Oleg Petrov on striker search: “André Silva? We are no longer negotiating.”

Speaking to the AFP, AS Monaco Director General Oleg Petrov discussed the club’s ongoing striker search.

“For Falcao? Clubs, not just Galatasaray, and other markets are interested in him, our captain and one of our best players. It is important that he stays, unless we receive an exceptional offer. We would then need to replace him with a player of the same calibre. André Silva? The transfer did not happen because of financial disagreements between the clubs. Not because of an injury. Currently, there is no negotiation. We are looking at other options. What type? A second forward, to shoulder Falcao in a 4-4-2. A central defender, a midfielder and a winger (is what we are looking for). We are active. But I need to also preserve a general balance.”
