Nantes reject Cardiff City’s conciliation proposal over the Emiliano Sala deal

L’Équipe report that Ligue 1 side Nantes have formally rejected a conciliation proposal transmitted to them by Cardiff City over a dispute concerning the payment of the transfer fee for deceased striker Emiliano Sala.

FIFA are expected to intervene with a determination in the coming days, with Les Canaris still demanding the €17m excluding bonuses as agreed for the January transfer.

FIFA will also hold a meeting relating to the case in the middle of the week, which means that both clubs failed to come to an amicable settlement, which was a process recommended by the Chairman of the relevant FIFA commission, Raymond Hack.

FIFA will formally give notice of their arbitration decision at the beginning of next week, which both sides would be able to appeal to the Court of Arbitration of Sport (CAS) if they are not happy with it.
