L’Équipe and RMC report that Serie A side Napoli have in recent hours made a provisional contract offer to Lyon captain Nabil Fékir and will open fee negotiations with the Ligue 1 side at the beginning of next week.
The French World Cup winner had agreed personal terms with Real Betis, but his camp recently hit the brakes on a move to the La Liga club after it became apparent that a more established European side was set to imminently make a bid for the player.
Les Gones were also reluctant to move forward with the Spanish side’s bid, which fell below their €30m valuation of a player under contract with OL for another 12 months.
Fékir has already spoken with Napoli manager Carlo Ancelotti and its president Aurelio De Laurentiis in recent hours.
RMC claim that Barcelona representative Eric Abidal has advised Fékir to move to Real Betis, but that Fékir is very attracted to the project on offer from Italy, who can offer him Champions’ League football.
