The transfer window is yet to officially start and still clubs have begun negotiations to sign players. This is notably the case for Premier League side Newcastle United, who lost 3-2 to Liverpool last night.
They are in negotiations with the entourage of 19-year-old AS Monaco right-winger Mehdi Zerkane, who has played 10 matches this season in the UEFA Youth League and scored twice and provided one assist.
The Clermont-Ferrand native’s current deal with ASM expires at the end of the season and can join any club of his choosing on a free transfer. Another side, in Ligue 1, is also in talks with the player but that team’s identity is yet to filter through.
