Neymar unhappy with team-mates, took aim at Presnel Kimpembe & Julian Draxler

Le Parisien report this evening more details from inside the PSG dressing room.

Neymar’s recent criticism of PSG’s young players after the Coupe de France final defeat against Rennes was pointed, according to the newspaper, specifically at Presnel Kimpembe and Julian Draxler. More specifically, the Brazilian attacker was referencing two incidents.

The first happened a few days before the Coupe de France, at half-time in Nantes’ 2-3 victory over Les Parisiens, in which Neymar did not participate nor did he travel to the game. At half-time in this particular game, Nantes were leading 2-1 and the team, without several key players (Thiago Silva, Edinson Cavani, Neymar, Kylian Mbappé) were performing in a mediocre way.

Inside the dressing room, Thomas Tuchel got very angry at this players and used very harsh words at them. Words that members of the team felt were unfair at the time. Captain that evening, Presnel Kimpembe decided to speak to his team-mates once the German had already quit the dressing room. The 23-year-old asked his team-mates “not to listen to what the manager had said,” and to “give everything in the second half”.

It was his way of trying to soften the words of the manager and remobilise a bruised team – but Dani Alves viewed this as treachery and passed this on to Ney. This is apparently what the Brazilian was talking about when he said 4 days later: “the coach gives advice but they talk back”.

The second incident occurred at half-time during the Coupe de France final against Rennes. That evening, the PSG #10 did not appreciate the lack of application shown by certain young players, who preferred to chew on sweets during the break and chat amongst each other, rather than focusing on Tuchel’s instructions.

Another incident involving Neymar is alleged to have occurred last week when PSG lost 3-2 to Montpellier thanks to a last minute goal from Souleymane Camara.

After the match, Julian Draxler criticised Neymar for his personal jibes. In front of the rest of the dressing room, the former Barcelona attacker took aim at the German: “Who are you to talk to me? You only ever pass the ball backwards.”

The atmosphere got increasingly spicy, forcing PSG Sporting Director Antero Henrique to forcibly separate the duo. In the space of a few days, Neymar, whose attitude is not always irreproachable, has made it clear that he is unhappy with the squad and who he feels the culprits are.
