Le 10 Sport, who have good links with Ligue 1 side Nîmes, report that Les Crocos have seen loan negotiations with St Étienne for striker Loïs Diony fall through.
Les Verts were said to have been open to the loan, although they prefer a permanent move away, but the salary split demanded by ASSE on Nîmes was too much for the latter side.
Diony still has contacts in Turkey, so one to watch in the coming days.
In the meantime, Saido Berahino’s trial with Nîmes did not go too well, with manager Bernard Blaquart against his arrival. The door is not fully closed on the Stoke City striker though, and Les Crocos may have to settle on him for financial reasons as he would be a free transfer with the Championship side willing to terminate his contract.
